Monday, 25th January 2010
A trial squad of 33 players from around Australia had been working for almost seven months for the opportunity to represent their county at the Championships, with only the best of the best making the final cut. The selected 23 man team will compete against the world's best in Manchester, England, in July, in what is expected to be the biggest World Championships to date, with 31 Nations competing for the title. Sharks Team Manager, Greg Hamilton, said the team is a good mix of experience and youth. "The average age of the players is around 26, the selected players provide an even mix of success from three States, 10 from Victoria, seven from South Australia and six from Western Australia." Tuesday, 28th July 2009
This policy has been suspended temporarily pending some fine tuning and liaison with ALRA and SAWLUA. This in no way a reflection of our attitude to or tolerance of poor behaviour in relation to officials or abuse of umpires and referees - this is simply un-acceptable and behaviour is being monitored closely. Not only is it personally unpleasant for those being targetted, and disrespectful by those delivering the abuse, we have lost some very fine people due to player behaviour towards umpires. As all clubs would be aware, officials are never easy to find, and losing people puts pressure on club players to officiate in games. Once the policy and/or bylaw has been revised and re-instituted, all clubs will be advised. In the meantime, please treat all Officials with respect at all times. It is up to Clubs to monitor the behaviour of all at their club - players, officials, supporters, parents. Congratulations!

Although deBeer states on its website that the Essence head and the TOS bent shaft are legal for the IFWLA game, they have not been approved by the RIH Lab. The head with the shaft attached does not meet IFWLA Crosse specifications nor does the IFWLA rule currently allow bent shafts. The deBeer Essence is NOT LEGAL for IFWLA play! there are problems with both the head and shaft; the first being that the shaft is currently bent and not legal according to IFWLA rules. Only the old Apex and Impulse are currently legal for IFWLA play. The STX head with the bent shaft is not legal either. Re headgear for Women
